Recollection

Just because it happens once does not mean you only get to be there once.

The days that change our lives go by in a blur. A wedding, a first birthday, a graduation, a reunion — you are carried from one moment to the next, and it is over before you have had time to stand in the middle of it and look around. Recollection keeps those days in every direction, so you can step back inside them.

Reach toward a memory.

Step inside a real moment

This is not a video of the day.
It is the room it happened in.

Drag the frame below and look anywhere a guest could look. In a headset or glasses there is no frame at all — you are standing in it.

Drag in any direction

One camera, one moment. A recollection holds every moment of the day, and every camera that was on it.

Milestones

Every day worth returning to

The days that happen once, and the people who make them. Whatever your family celebrates, it belongs here.

Where Recollection began

Weddings

The day you spent a year planning, and the one that passes fastest. The aisle, the vows, your family watching you, the dance floor at midnight — every direction, every moment, kept exactly as it was.

Births and first birthdays

The first days, and the first candle. Small hands, full rooms, and the grandparents who flew in to hold them.

Birthdays

The seventh, the thirtieth, the ninetieth. Everyone who came, gathered around one person.

Quinceañeras

The entrance, the waltz, the family who made it happen — a night that belongs to one young woman and everyone who raised her.

Bar and Bat Mitzvahs

The reading, the blessing, the chair lifted high. A day of becoming, held as it was.

Graduations

The walk across the stage, and the people in the seats who carried you there.

Engagements

The question, the answer, and the faces of the people who knew before you did.

Anniversaries

Ten years, fifty years. The people you built a life with, in one room again.

Cultural and religious ceremonies

Christenings, naming ceremonies, confirmations, Eid, Diwali, Lunar New Year — the traditions that make a family who they are, kept with care.

Reunions and holidays

The table that only fits everyone once a year. Four generations, the same kitchen, the same stories.

Retirements

A career's worth of colleagues and friends, and the speech you will want to hear again.

Celebrations of life

Honouring someone who is gone, together. Handled quietly, only with the family's consent, and shared only as they choose.

The moments that are yours alone

Not every milestone has a guest list. Your own photos and videos belong here too, through the Recollection app.

The Experience

Every angle, kept

A film shows you what one camera was pointed at. It is a lovely thing, and it is somebody else's version of your day — everything outside that frame is simply gone.

What is outside the frame is usually the part you would want most. Your mother's face during the vows. Your grandfather laughing at the back of the graduation hall. The whole family singing around one small cake. A camera pointed one way cannot keep any of it.

Recollection keeps all of it. Every moment holds every camera we ran on it, playing together in perfect step. Stand at the centre, then turn to watch the room watching — the same instant, from somewhere else.

So you can go back next year, and in twenty. You can show it to a child who was not born yet. And one day it will be the closest thing there is to standing in a room with someone who is no longer in it — not a photograph of them, but them, moving, on a day that mattered.

It is not a video you watch. It is a memory you return to.

Where it opens

Made for Meta's VR glasses and Meta Quest

The glasses for the premium experience, Quest for the accessible one, and your phone for bringing your own memories in.

The premium experience

Meta VR glasses

The way Recollection is meant to be felt. Light enough to wear on the sofa, with eye tracking, so a memory comes into focus simply by looking at it. And because the glasses are also where you work and watch everything else, your memories live on the device you already reach for every day.

The accessible way in

Meta Quest 3 and 3S

The most affordable way to step inside a memory, at full scale. A heavier headset built for immersion — ideal for the first time you go back, and for handing to someone who was there.

Your phone, your memories

The Recollection app

Where your own photos and videos come in. Upload the moments you captured yourself, keep them private or share them with the people you choose, and find them waiting for you in your headset or glasses.

The Recollection apps for Meta's VR glasses, Meta Quest and phones are in development. Today, every recollection already opens from a link in the Meta Quest browser, and guests can watch in any browser.

How it works

Two ways in, one place to remember

01

We film it in every direction

For the days that matter most, our crew places cameras where the moments actually happen and records all of them, at once. Not one angle chosen for you.
02

Or you bring your own

Photos and videos from your phone, through the Recollection app. Every memory, whoever captured it, gathers in the same place.
03

You step back inside

Reach toward a memory and it comes back into focus around you. Look anywhere, switch angles mid-moment, and return whenever you choose.

Delivery

One recollection.
Choose where you remember it.

The glasses, the Quest, or both. Whatever you choose is yours to keep, and your memories are identical on each.

How many, and of which

Tell us how many of each you want and we will quote it that way. Glasses for the two of you, a Quest for the grandparents, or one of each — it is your box.

Already own a Meta Quest? You need no package: open your recollection from its link in the Quest browser.

  • A private library that stays yours Private by default. You decide who sees each memory.

The people who were there

Your day was not only yours

Every recollection comes with guest passes, so the people who were there — and the ones who could not be — can step inside it too.

You send them yourself, in seconds: a link, an email, or a code to scan. They need no account and no app; it opens in their browser. The grandparent who could not travel, the friend whose flight was cancelled, the cousin who missed the speeches.

Guests can watch, and cannot invite anyone else. Who sees your memories stays your decision.

Remember together

In the same room again.
From anywhere in the world.

Open the same recollection at the same time, wherever everybody is. One person leads and the rest follow — but every one of you is looking wherever you like.

Everyone keeps their own view

You are all at the same second of the same day, and you can each be looking at something different — the person at the centre, the faces watching them, your father at the back of the room.

Anywhere, not just here

It is a link and a short code, not a wire between two machines. Your sister in another country is in the room as easily as somebody sitting beside you.

Wander off, and come back

Step out of step whenever you want — pause, go back, look around on your own — and rejoin the others with one press.

See where everyone is looking

Everybody in the room has a colour, and their initials float in the picture where they are looking. Glance up and see that your mother is watching the top table; turn and see it too. It disappears the moment you stop touching anything, so it is company when you want it and a quiet room the rest of the time.

Hearts, too. Hold the button through the part you love and it fills with hearts in everybody's colours — and the moment is marked on the timeline, so you can go straight back to it.

Glasses and headsets, one room

Everyone can share the same memory from whatever they have, and guests without a headset can still join from a browser. Guests need no account, and their access ends when they leave.

Questions

The things families ask us

Is this just a video in a headset?

No. A film is one camera's version of the day, chosen for you. A recollection is the day itself, filmed in every direction at once and cut into the moments it was made of — and within each moment, every camera plays together. Be at the front for the toast, then turn to watch the room watching, at the same instant.

Which days do you capture?

Any day worth returning to: weddings, births and birthdays, quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, graduations, engagements, anniversaries, cultural and religious ceremonies, reunions, retirements and celebrations of life. If it matters to your family, it matters to us — tell us about it.

Should I choose the glasses or the Quest?

Meta's VR glasses are the premium experience: lighter, with eye tracking, and a device you will also use for work and entertainment every day. Meta Quest 3 and 3S cost less and are heavier, built mainly for immersive play — a wonderful, affordable way in. The Family Package gives you both.

Can I add my own photos and videos?

Yes. The Recollection app on your phone is how your own media comes in — the moments you captured yourself, not only the ones we film. It is in development, and every memory you add stays private until you choose to share it.

Do my guests need anything to watch it?

Today, a link. You invite guests yourself — by email, a copied link, or a code to scan — and they open it in the browser they already have. Guests can watch and cannot invite anyone else; that stays yours.

What does it cost?

It depends on the day: how long we are there, how many cameras, how many places, and which package you want. Tell us about your milestone and we will come back with a real number rather than a range that turns out not to apply to you.

How long do we keep it?

For as long as you want it. Your memories stay in your private library, and you can export them in open formats at any time.
